A terrific 500 year old riad with a beautiful and uniquely Moroccan experience. I cannot say enough good things about our stay at Riad Al Mamoune. Not only did Asad meet us at the main square and physically escort us to the Riad (as well as giving us mental notes to help us always find our way back) but the hospitality we experienced was next level. It literally felt like we were visiting family.

The entire staff made us feel right at home. They were professional but not so formal as to make us feel like outsiders. They also provided lots of advise so that we were not overcharged when taking cabs, or we had a bit of insight to help us navigate the city. Other people we traveled with that booked Airbnbs did not have that and had some bad experiences as a result. The room was beautiful and decorated in a traditional style. It also had air conditioning which I did not expect in a 500 year old building. It was also a great value. We were centrally located to everything but it was quiet and peaceful inside. It was lovely to walk by the neighborhood oven as well, smelling all the fresh baked bread. The breakfast was prepared fresh every day and was unbeatable. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and I would wholeheartedly recommend Riad Al Mamoune.

I highly recommend to stay at Riad Al Mamoune if you are in Marrakesh. What I like the most is that the building is a heritage and the owner tried to keep the feeling that you are a couple of centuries back in old Medina. I liked the accuracy and welcoming team. The owner met me himself at the main square and shown me the best way to reach the riad. The place was very clean and beautiful. Although I stayed at the riad only for one night, if I come back one day I will stay there again.

Amazing stay. Great riad. We had an amazing stay here. The staff are all super friendly, accommodating and went above and beyond to serve the guests - truly five star service to the level I’ve never experienced anywhere else. I highly recommend eating a meal at the riad - it’s far better than any restaurant food we had in Morocco. I also recommend a transfer from the airport so they can show you the way there the first time.

The location is perfect, five minutes from the main square on a quiet side street (the street it is on is clean and very safe). Unfortunately the jacuzzi was not working while we were there but it looked nice. The rooftop terrace is a great place to relax. Breakfast was different every day and included freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee and tea.
We stayed in both junior suites. The Sultana on the ground floor had a bigger bathroom, a slightly firmer bed, but not a great WiFi connection in all parts of the room (there is good WiFi service right outside the room in the ground floor common area). The other junior suite on the second floor had a smaller bathroom and a router for WiFi inside of the room.
My only recommendation would be for the hotel to purchase a reliable WiFi access point for the second floor, and perhaps for the first floor as well, as they are not very expensive and they would improve their WiFi service greatly (the Ubiquiti Networks Unifi access point is a cheap, reliable AP that is easy to set up).
Overall, we had an incredible stay and would certainly stay at the riad again. Highly recommended.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The riad is beautiful and very clean. The location is superb, near to " Place Des Epices", wonderful Hammam as well, where they give you amazing masagges, restaurants.... But the service is THE BEST. They are very attentive, friendly and they have hight level of proffesionalism. Thanks to Samira, Bouchra and Mouna for preparing such deliciuos and amazing breakfasts, and thank you in particular to ABDO that is AWESOME !!!!

The property was perfectly! I couldn’t fault it. It was an epic 16th century riad. Close to everything with the most helpful staff ever. The breakfast was amazing and the rooms were cleaned daily. My partner is super messy and they even folded his clothes. I would 100% recommend this place.

Good experience for living in the Riad, traditional breakfast, also beautiful interior! The location is extremely good, very close to the markets; the staff also really good and helpful; my first time living in the Riad, impressive!

Great place, very well located and with the best staff ever! This riad is a gem! Despite of being in the middle of the medina, in a great location, it's absolutely silent and peaceful. The staff is the best team ever! The girls, Abdul and Mohamed - this people are simply amazing! So helpful, kind and gentle that I have no words for all the attention you gave to me.

Even a cooking class, at the riad kitchen I had! Amazing! :) The bed is comfortable, the breakfast is good, the ambiance is very nice, they have good internet and the staff...did I talk about them? :)

When we take shower, there's water all over. Maybe a curtain on the shower could help to avoid it.

We totally can recommend this lovely Riad. The breakfast is very good, especially the fresh orange juice and the selfmade cakes. Its very close to Djemaa el Fna (5 minutes walk) and a ideal starting point in any direction. What makes this place special is the friendly and helpful staff. Special thanks to Mohamed and Abdo. They help you in every way they can, and give many good advices what to do, and what better not to do in Marrekech. Thats very helpful, especially if its your first trip to Marrakech.

We also recommend the airport transfer from the hotel (150DH one way), because its not that easy to find if you don‘t know all the hidden ways through the suqs. We also booked a cooking class, which was really cool. We‘ve learned how to cook moroccan tajine and salads from the lovley cooking chef.

Best Riad in Marrakech. Great staff that helped us with valuable tips to get around in Marrakech. Also a very clean and tidy room, in the traditional Maroccan style. The food was great and every breakfast had a new twist. A very hospitable staff that want to help you in any way, even in their time off! We highly recommend this Riad especially of you want to experience the real Marrakech.

Best stay I've had in the world... Riad Al Mamoune made my stay in Marrakech so memorable. You've never really experienced true hospitality until you've stayed there. The staff is one of a kind, and you can be sure to be treated like family. The place is a true little safe haven. A paradise, calm amongst the chaos of the city, just outside the door.

It is perfectly located, extremely clean and well taken care of. The Riad is the perfect representation of authentic moroccan design. Every room is a master piece. The terrace is magical as well. The breakfast is the best I've ever had in a hotel. Varied on a daily basis, and prepared in a traditional way, with love. I could keep going on over how great and perfect this place was, but words can hardly explain, honestly.

I'd recommend to anybody visiting Marrakech. Loved every minute there and the staff above expectation. What we liked the most was definitely the staff - lovely, very welcoming and helpful people who made us feel like home first day. coffee and breakfast was great, the room we stayed in(junior suite) was not only beautiful, but large so our 1year old son loved it as well, he could roam around as long as he wanted.

Very nice Riad with very warm/ welcoming staff. We only stayed for one night but they welcomed us with Moroccan tea/ cake when we arrived and explained to us the main sights in marrakech on the map. They also prepared breakfast for us early the next day as we were leaving for a desert trip. Our room was very comfortable and clean too!

Excellent host, fantastic staff, great stay! Already planning next years stay with them! Everything! The host was incredibly hospitable and made our stay very comfortable. The staff were lovely and friendly. The room was spacious and the location was ideal. It was like staying at home.

The alleyways from the riad to the bazaar were not as lit as we would have liked them but nonetheless it was perfectly safe to walk at anytime of the day or night.

The Riad has a very special and authentic atmosphere, combined with the very beauty of an old and beautiful arquitecture. 1001 nights in Marrakech. We travel for the first time to Africa. My husbond was anxious before we left Copenhagen, but as agreed we were picked up at the beautiful airport of Marrakech. At the big square El Jemaa we were picked up from the night supervisor of the hotel, since cars weren’t allowed to drive into the square at night. The supervisor guide us through the souk and pointed out landmarks on our way that we could find our way through the maze ourselves the following days.

The Riad al Mamoune was entered through a wide but low door from 1600 century and led us into a beatiful, oriental decorated courtyard with a tiny pool and cosy lounge area. Great rooms with tastefully decorated bathrooms. I loved the blue colours. Breakfast was served at the roof terasse. We loved everything: coffee, warm cocoa, honey, fruit, jam, olives(!) and marroco flat bread. Great, quiet atmosphere with view of the Atlas mountains.

The perfect start to our Morocco trip. Everything went smooth since minute one. Super friendly Pick up; introduction to Morocco, medina and the city. Beautiful breakfast - the best we had all week. Beautiful rooms and thoughtful design. They offer assistance whenever you need some. Staff is just amazing.

Without an organised pick-up the Riad would have been difficult to find for us, and for everybody who just arrived in Marrakesh.

I must complement the staff above all else. Azad the manager texted me a day earlier to confirm my checkin with a diagram finding the Riad. It was comforting knowing my room was secured and my arrival expected around the stipulated time. GoogleMap WAS LIFESAVING and extremely useful to find any directions in the puzzling Souk!

My arrival was greeted by Anas, in my years of traveling around the world, I had never met a staff who was so dedicated, polite, professional and helpful, I saw in him a great asset to any establishment. His proficient English and French were remarkable. Abdul was equally great in making my stay “like home”.Housekeeping and breakfast were excellent I looked forward every morning enjoying my meals on the cool breezy terrace rooftop. The Riad itself was beautiful and serene. It was peaceful and guests were wonderfully hushed in keeping with the calm ambience. Chirping of birds and the household cat were an unexpected welcome. Cute. Location was excellent about 10-15 min through labyrinth of maze (thank goodness for GoogleMap) to get to JemaaElFna, shops, restaurants and the cafes. The only aspect that could be better was bathroom in my room, it could use a minor touch up to prevent shower from wetting the whole bathroom. Maybe a bigger and more prominent signage outside the Riad entrance would ease travelers finding it. Having said that, I highly recommend this Riad, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and grateful to the excellent staff.

Riad al mamoune is terrific all around. It's a great physical space, with a lovely common courtyard, and great rooms with lots of authentic touches. And the location is great in that it's on a quiet side street, not far from the souk (and near one of the best restaurants in the city, Nomad).

But best of all is Asad and his staff. They couldn't do enough for us and seemed genuinely concerned that we have the best possible stay. They asked about everything we'd done and helped us make plans and arrangements whenever we needed their help, going well out of their way on at least one occasion. The night guy, Abdullah, was really charming and welcoming. And the kitchen staff bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we wanted for breakfast (and then some). We had to ask them to stop! ; )

Great location, staff, and breakfast! We loved our stay at the Riad Al Mamoune. The location is fantastic, you are right in the thick of things, but tucked away just enough that it is quiet, off a merchant alley connected to the Jemaa el-Fnaa medina. The staff is very outgoing and friendly. Our host met us at the driver drop-off point across the medina and walked us to the Riad, giving us some info about the markets along the way. Once there we were greeted with warm mint tea, and given an overview of the area with the help of a map.

The area can get very confusing to navigate with all the streets and alleys, this was very helpful for us to orientate ourselves and our walks. He recommended some great non-tourist trap places to shop and eat as well. The breakfast we delicious, fresh, cute, and a little different each day, served on a lovely rooftop. We highly recommend this place, and would definitly stay again.

Amazing, a must for a wonderlust. If you like to feel like you are at home away from home then this is the place for you..Jn addition, if you want an authentic Morroccan Place..this is the place for you...I for one would stay again if I'm ever in Marrakech..Highly Recommended you won't be disappointed.

Abdo, Asad are the most accommodating, knowledgeable, friendly relationship/front desk manager I've met thus far...all my queries prior to arriving has been instantly answered...the assurance of my safety as a female alone traveler has been assured...they even speak English!!! The location of this riad is right at the happening place of Jma el fna.

If I have to say anything is the shower doesn't have a door but authentic Morrocan is like that rather than the commercialized big chains hotel is not authentic experience....

We highly recommend this property if you want to really have the Marrakesh experience! The staff were the main advantage of the property. They were extremely helpful, friendly and attentive to us...100% to them all. The location is also perfect. It is right off the main square, through the souks. In the heart of the madness of Marrakech and yet amazingly quiet and peaceful. We feel that we certainly felt more part of Marrakech here instead of a large hotel outside of the action.

I can not really think of much we didn't like, but if I was going to be stupidly picky we could just say that we would of loved yoghurt or fruit every day as part of our breakfast, instead of just two out of four. But that is just if we are trying to find a fault. We would certainly recommend this property to our friends and family.

Incredible service, one of the most welcoming riads we have visited! Location in the heart of the Medina. Tricky to find because of inadequate google maps so used hotel’s map and found it instantly. Big rooms with lock (rare in riads) and door at the WC (even rarer!)

Could use a bit of refurbishment on a few bits but nothing serious.

Unique building with superb hosts. The riad Al Mamoune ist perfectly located near the famous djemaa el fna. We suggest to book the transfer from the airport to the city through the riad. It helps you a lot to navigate through the narrow and hidden paths through the medina. The hosts are extremely friendly and are happy to inform you about Marrakesch. As already mentioned in other reviews the breakfast is great. The rooms are furnished fondly. We can highly recommend the riad! Luca & Martin.

Terrific and unique experience! The staff were particularly helpful in all respects. Before we arrived, they introduced themselves and sent clear instructions on where to meet so that could show us to the Riad inside the very busy, very maze-like medina in Marrakesh. My family and I stayed here for 3 nights and it was simply marvelous. Anas waited for us to arrive near the main square and walked us to the riad, providing clear directions and navigation tips as we went. Thanks to this, we never lost our back way to the riad during our entire stay.

Anas also helped us with recommendations of places to go, where locals eat, and things to watch out for. He really made our trip special. The entire staff was wonderful. Breakfast was huge and delicious. We took one of the riad's cooking classes and it was a great experience especially for our 10 and 17 year old daughters. A hidden gem. Through a maze of dark and light, crooked streets, a busy souk and then playing kids and sleeping cats. Finally you are there : a hidden gem, a true oasis. You sleep in beautifully decorated room with comfortable beds and are woken up by singing birds. A wonderful courtyard and a stunning rooftop where you have your delicious breakfast.

But the best of all : mr Asad and his helpful, knowing, eager, willing and absolutely wonderful staff - people like them make all the difference when you arrive at a new and unknown destination. Without hesitation I give this place my best recommendation.
Ps. Try the cooking class. You get to see a meat and vegetable market, a beautiful olive market and to cook with an extremely skilled cook.

Fantastic. Great Riad, Great staff and service!I just got back from a 5 day break from Marrakesh. We stayed at Riad al Mamoune, which was a 5 minute walk from the bazaar. It is situated in a quiet neighbourhood and is a true hidden gem. I regret not taking the Riad's invitation of an airport pick up as we got lost, definitely recommended. Great Riad, friendly staff, fantastic owner (British Citizen) a warm homely feel to the place. Put our minds at ease, safe and trustworthy. Best Choice. Definitely going back in Sept.

The room we were in was a little small (very comfy though) so I would definitely go for one of the suites next time.

Great location, excellent staff! The staff were great, very friendly and welcoming. There was lots of helpful communication prior to our stay, and the Riad also arranged a taxi to pick us up from the airport. We met Asad in the main square and he directed us to the Riad, and once there he showed us a map to ensure we knew exactly where we were staying, as well as the best places to visit in Marrakesh.

The location of the Riad couldn't have been better, we were in the heart of the souks and walking distance from most of the tourist sites and there were lots of restaurants nearby. A great breakfast was provided every morning, and the ladies working in the kitchen were lovely. The roof space was a nice surprise - a great place to sit in the sun after a busy day being tourists.

Fantastic Riad. From the moment Abdo picked us up from the taxi I knew I'd booked the right place. We had 5 fantastic nights at this beautiful traditional Riad. The staff did everything they could to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Through them we organised a tour of the atlas mountains, had a cooking lesson and they even organised a birthday cake for my wife.

We had dinner at the Riad twice and it was delicious, their wonderful chef helped us to make a Tagine for our cooking lesson.
They made sure we knew how to get round the souks and get the most out of our stay. I was wary of being a gay couple in Morroco, but I had no reason to, the staff made us feel completely at home.
We can't wait to come back and will be recommending the riad to friends and family. Thank you guys!

Wonderful place in the middle of the souk The Riad is in a perfect location, just in the centre of the souk but away from the usual bustle of the area. It is an ancient centenary palace reformed following the traditional style. The suite is ideal for couples because of its comfort and tranquility.

Breakfast is served in the dining room or on the roof of the building and is really exquisite. As for the staff, Asad and the rest of the members will do their best to ensure that your stay is perfect both in terms of accommodation and the rest of your trip through Morocco.

Just the WiFi connectivity which is some weak in the second floor rooms.

As close as you can get to Marrakech's markets with comfort and friendly staff! There's no better location if you want to be in the heart of Marrakech's Medina and markets! Super-friendly and helpful staff. Our suite for family of four was very spacious and beds were very comfortable. Super Moroccan breakfasts on rooftop terrace!

It's location adjacent to the market means the property isn't the most beautiful on the outside, but the comfort, convenience, friendliness, and food well outweighed that and we had a fantastic stay!

Wonderful riad in the heart of the medina. My partner and I had a wonderful time here for two nights. The hospitality is amazing, the best we had in or ten day stay in Morocco. The site manager did everything to accomodate our needs/requests.

Amazing stay at Riad Al-Mamoune Abdel and all the staff at Riad Al-Mamoune were more than wonderful to us. We felt right at home and they treated us like family. The Riad is incredibly beautiful, quiet, very well located, just a 5 minute walk (and a walk full of sights and colors) from Jemaa el-Fnaa.

We traveled with our 5 months baby and everyone was so nice to him. The room is amazing, so nicely decorated! The bed, very very comfortable, and they also gave us a crib for the baby. The breakfast was delicious and we could never finish it because it was so much. Coffee (so good, I forgot to ask which coffee they gave us), tea, fresh juice, a variety of Moroccan breads, jams, butter, honey, olives, hotcakes, fruit. Everything to start the day with plenty of energy and walk all around Marrakech. We will definitely come back and recommend the Riad to anyone who travels to Marrakech.

Recomended - great location, helpful staff, a real sense of the city! Beautiful large room with four poster bed and full warm overhead shower. On arrival the staff talked us through recommended sites and city advice (much appreciated!) and a traditional breakfast was served each morning.

I normally do not post review but this raid definitely worth it. The location is perfect (less then 5 mins by foot from the main square), rooms are clean, fully equipped and decorated in real moroccan style. The Riad is really quiet, elegant and you can feel the typical Moroccan atmosphere feeling at home at the same time. Also breakfast is just amazing! Last but not least, Asad the owner and all his staff, gave us the best suggestions ever which made our holiday just perfect.

Lovely riad with wonderful rooms and friendly staff! My husband and I began and ended our travels around Morocco at Riad Al Mamoune. We loved the property and the people so much, we just had to stay there again before departing from Marrakech!

The owner, Asad, and his wife made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our time in Marrakech. Asad has great recommendations for everything, including food and activities. He even took us to find a Moroccan sim card our first day. The breakfast was amazing, and the staff super friendly. We definitely have to come back for another visit in the future.

Wonderful Riad in the middle of the medina, helpful and very friendly staff. We stayed in Marrakesh for 4 days in the beautiful Riad Al Mamoune. Its location is a little difficult to find (although just 2min from the Souk Semmarine), but just call the owner to pick you up from the near Jemaa el Fna (5min) before you are caught by kids or other locals hanging about in the narrow alleys around the riad, asking you for money after showing you the way...

However, once the door is closed and you are inside the riad, the craziness of the medina is left outside and you get to admire this wonderful place with plants, the small pool and the rooms located around the yard (=riad). The atmosphere is very quiet and peaceful and you get to relax quickly. During our stay, the owner Houcine just passed his business on to the new owner, Asad. We got to know both as two really welcoming, entertaining and helpful persons who were always ready to have a good chat in the riad or to give useful tips where to go (and not to go!), what to visit and in which restaurant to eat in the never sleeping city of Marrakesh. Asad, Houcine and the housekeeping staff made our stay just perfect and such a cool experience. The rooms are decorated in a clean and neat traditional Moroccan manner, while still in a stylish and comfortable way that makes you instantly feel at home. The rooftop terrasse offers a great view over the medina and some shady spots to read a book or relax. All in all we absolutely and warmly recommend this place in Marrakesh and would definitely choose it again when we get to stay in this city again.

Great location in the heart of Medina. The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. The rooms are comfortable, very clean and decorated in a traditional Moroccan way. Delicious breakfast with lots of typical Moroccan flavors. Best Moroccan tea ever.

No swimming pool.

This place is marvelous: in the very heart of the Medina, this Riad is like living as a true Maroccan family from the last century. Breakfast is delicious. Rooms are very cozy and comfortable. But the real genius of the house is Abdo, the best of the host ever, who was able to make our holiday unforgettable.

We loved Riad Mamoune! We are a family with two small children and our suite was perfect for our needs. The staff were extremely helpful and went the extra mile to make sure our stay in marakech was wonderful.
